From Farm To Fork Blog, Vol 2, Issue 1

Dear Volunteers and Supporters,

We hope the New Year of 2015 is off to a great start for you!

Things have been busy at Earthworks Farm, with many changes and plenty of new projects for volunteers to be involved in! We would like to invite you to our “Show Your Love For Trees Event” that will be taking place this Saturday, February 14th from 9am – 12:30pm at the Farm. Bring your friends, family and loved ones to help us, show our love and dedication to our Orchard and Food. A fantastic event to help kick off the new year with some volunteering!

Volunteers will help clean up weeds and lay new mulch around the trees in the Orchard. This is a great opportunity to learn more about caring for trees, mulching and urban farming.

We hope to see you at the Farm, and keep an eye out for NEW volunteer and educational events to come in these next few months.

Thanks for all of your help and your support!

More and more schools and parents take note of our new programs, the harvest tours! This is a great way to introduce kids and teenagers to organic farming. We teach about caring for garden beds, or they learn to plant and seed. At the end of the tour, they learn to seed into a pot, to then take their pot home to continue to nurture it. Have your school sign up for a field trip!
